STRENGTH IN MIDLIFE

Strength training that counters midlife’s hormonal shifts in your 40s and 50s to protect muscle, bone, and independence

STRENGTH TRAINING IN MIDLIFE

Muscle and bone loss accelerate through your 40s and 50s. One of the main drivers is hormonal: testosterone declines in men, estrogen declines in women through menopause. Strength training is the primary tool to counter the effects on muscle, bone, and metabolism.

We cover how to structure your training: frequency, load, rep ranges, exercise selection, injury prevention, and the role of protein and recovery. Since the physiology and the training implications differ, we address men and women separately.

Our aim: build and keep muscle, protect bone density, and stay functionally strong and independent through midlife.
